I have choosen my last oral presentation as the best oral evidence because I think that it tells a lot of things about how I'm and how I want to be in the future. And I have choosen my post about the sinde law as my best written evidence because I remeber that when I wrote it I enjoyed a lot, and when I finished the post I felt very good for criticize my "enemy".

There are a lot of reasons that do these evidence the bests. Firstly, I can say that these posts talk about my interests, my true opinions, these posts show how I can defend my opinions in an oral or written discussion, so this reasons make them better than the others. Other reasons could be that in these evidence there are a better level of grammar than in the others posts. And in my opinion these are my most expressives works.

My English progress from 2008-2010

The first thing that I see when I read the compositions was that the ideas that I expose in the email to teacher were not clear and structured. If i compare the structure, the structure of the first composition was so bad but in the last post, I estructured the information in four paragraphs to separate the different ideas.

Another difference betwen the two texts was the vocabulary, reading them I can see that I learned a lot of words and expressions. Also I have to consider that in the email, I used a lot of help with the dictionary but in the last post I only have to use the diccionary to search one word: "queixar-se" that it is called in English : complain.

If I compare my first oral presentation and my last one, I can see some differences. Firstly, the fluency had improved a lot, maybe it is because the issue of the last presentation was the Research Project and I knowed with a lot of details what I have to explain. Others differences are the vocabulary, and my movements, both things are improved in the last presentation.

Can our country bear a disaster like Japan?

Currently in Japan there are a very big crisis because of the earthquake which cause the big tsunami which devasted a very big part of the country entering with a lot of strenght from the coast. But the problems of Japan don't finish there, with the devastation of the tsunami, a nuclear power station left without water in the refrigeration tanks, and this provokes a bigger disaster because the reactors of the nuclear power station was too old to soport the high temperatures.

But what do the population of Japan when it occurs? They don't start to run away, they listen to their governament and follow the orders, they don't complain.

And, what will do the population of Spain if a disaster like Japan affects their country?

Firstly, the biggest part of the buildings and infrastructures will be destroyed by the earthquake. Later all ruins will be dragged by the force of the tsunami destroying the remaining buildings.

And what we will do all the people? A lot of people will die because the effects of the earthquake, and then, before the tsunami, all the people will try to run away of the affected area. The massive traffic in the roads will provoke a lot of accidents so the people will not be able to save their lifes.

In conclusion I think that our country isn't prepared to bear a disaster with this dimensions. If that occurs Spain will sink as a country.

HOME

All we have to do is learn to cultivate the sun.

In my opinion this phrase have a lot of true, currently, with the solar panels, we only can produce a very little electricity. We only collect a very little percentage of energy in comparation with the energy that the sun send to our solar panels. Maybe the solution for the problem of no-renovable energies is to put a lot of solar panels in our houses and create a lot of fields filled of solar panels but i think that this will not operate. In the current times when the people see the price of one solar panel start to laugh, because they need a very big inversion which will be profitable a lot of years after. I think that the good solution is to improve the solar panels, we have to do solar panels which start to make the most of the sun energy we can achieve. And later, when we have did it, we can try to do more cheap solars panels. If we do that, the people will start to install solar panels in their houses and the pollution of earth will decrease a lot.

Fly me to the moon: The Bangkok optician who makes bamboo saxophones

Introduction of the new:

Not far from Bangkok's Khlong Lod canal lies an optician's run by a man named Waiboon Tungyuenyong. It is set in a long row of shophouses that lines one side of Atsadang Road.

The story of the shop and its owner is replicated many times over in this part of the city, with one exception. This particular store also doubles as a purveyor of bamboo saxophones.

“Sometimes people ask me to teach them, but they don’t have the patience, and they can’t pick the wood," says Waiboon.

“I was born here, upstairs," Waiboon explains, gesturing to the ceiling. "My parents came from mainland China, and they ran a shop, like a 7-Eleven. Next door was a general store, selling hammers, nails, mosquito nets. This area was the centre of Bangkok around 80 years ago. The suburbs were just fields."

My opinion:

I think that this sir named Waiboon Tungyuenyong would have to be an example to follow for a lot of people. Waiboon are demostrating to the world that the phrase: if you want something you can achieve it, is fully true. When Waiboon wanted play saxophone, he started learning all the tunes of the classic music listening the radio. When he had memorized all the tunes, he started to fabricate a bamboo saxophone. Waiboon had tried to make a good bamboo saxophone for four years, but one day a client in the shop asked to Waiboon if he could play one of the bamboo saxophones. Waiboon thought that the bamboo saxophone would not work, but when the client tried to play it, it sounded fine. How much people in the world that we know can try for four years fabricate something like a bomboo saxophone? I have the answer: anyone. I'm very surprise because the insistence of Waiboon to fabricate a saxophone and to achieve one of his dreams. I think that all the people will have to insist like Waiboon to achieve their dreams, if we try it we can accomplish our objectives!

Inglorious Bastards

Summary:

During the German occupation of France, Shosanna Dreyfus saw the execution of his family to hands of the colonel nazi Hans Landa. Shosanna escape to Paris, where she obtained a new identity as owner and director of a cinema.

In another place of Europe, the lieutenant Aldo Raine organizes a group of Jewish soldiers to attack to concrete aims. Known by the enemy as "The Basterds", Raine's troops join the German actress Bridget Von Hammersmark, a secret agent who works for the allies, in order to do a mission that will make fall the leaders of the Third Reich. The destiny wants that they meet under the marquee of a cinema where Shosanna waits to take revenge.

In the cinema opened a nazi film and Hitler goes to see this film. While the leaders of the Third Reich are into the cinema Shosanna burns it. The troops of Aldo Rayne go in the cinema and kill Hitler. Only survive Aldo Raine who returns to his homeland with the leader of SS as a prisoner.

Danny the dog

Danny the dog is a film which tells the story of Danny, and her life in Glasgow. Danny is a young specialist in marital arts and she grown up like a dog by his owner, the gangster Bart. When Bart unleashes his collar, Danny starts to behave like a wild animal and he starts to hurt and kill all the people which Bart has ordered. At the beginning of the film we can see that Bart use the habilities of Danny to earn money in the ilegal fights.

After a car accident, Danny goes to Sam's house. Sam is a blind man who work in a big store repairing pianos. Danny stay with Sam and his daughter Victoria. They take care of Danny like a member of their family and this is the reason that in some time Danny starts to feeling attracted by music and by some other things like good food or girls. But his past haunts him. Months later, Bart has recovered from injury of the car accident and he hunt Danny.

"Danny the Dog" is a dramatic story. The protagonist passed from be a brutal animal to a human.

This film liked me a lot, at the first I thinking that would be only martial arts fights in a stupid plot.

The character of Danny will certainly shake the emotions of the viewer and make him think about how many people, including children, are badly treated around the world.

Writing: Dialogue

-Peter: Hello John, good morning.
-John: Good morning Peter. How are you?
-Peter: I’m fine, I’m working in a office at the city. And you John?
-John: Well, it has to be a light job. I’m working in the farmer of my family. My father died three years ago and he let me his farmer as my inheritance.
-Peter: Don’t think that, I work eight hours everyday. I only have the weekend to take a rest.
-John: Wow you’re the luckiest man! I work everyday taking care of my farmer animals and my big field. I work twelve hours everyday, when the sun comes up I’m in the field. When I return at home I’m very tired to go out, so I can’t meet people and girls.
-Peter: Oh! John that is a shit. Can you pay a man or somebodyto help you with the farmer? If you achieve it I can bring you to the city bars to meet nice girls.
-John: I will try to contract someone, but I can’t promise anything, I dont’ have a lot of money.

-Peter: Okay John try to do it! Good luck!

-John: Thanks Peter, see you.

-PEter: Bye John.

World Of Warcraft

World of Warcraft (WOW) is my favorite computer game. This game exists few years ago but now we can play it on-line with a lot of players. This game consists to create an avatar (character), this character will represent you when you are playing.

To create our avatar we can choose different species: tauren, elf, human, dwarf and some more. All of this species are grouped in two clans: Alliance and Horde. And during the game we will fight with the enemy clan to obtain honor.

When you have chosen your specie, you need to choose the kind of warrior you want to be: Priest, Magician, Hunter, Warrior, this election will define your functions in the battle camp. Later, when you have created your avatar you can change his skin, his face, his hair, it's basically to have some differences with the others avatars of our specie. At this moment our avatar is created and we can entry in the magic world!

At the beginning your avatar are in level 1 and you appear in a small village or in a hill. THe first objective of the game is to rise your level, and you achieve it killing a lot of monsters and doing some missions. Each level you gain will give you some points which you will use to learn new skills and powers.

When your character reaches level 10 he be able to learn two professions like miner, flayer, enchanter, furrier, blacksmith... These works will serve you to create objects or improve them.

Every level is more difficult than the previous one. Because you need to win more experience. The maximum level is 85, so we have much work to get to 85. In the virtual world of World Of Warcraft there are a lot of players with avatars level 85 for this reason the best characters are which have better skills for his specie and better objects.

Have a happy life!

There are a lot of people in the world which is depressed, unhappy and worried for her future.

I think that this people are very pessimist. They need to put a dossis of fun in her lifes. All the people need be happy. In my opinion we need to be a lot optimistic, take the life as a funny game. A game where the bad things are resolved with the time. In this game occurs a lot of good things, and we have the opportunity of live this moments and situations. You can find a person who want to share her life with you. We can have children and take care of they, see how they grow and how they learn.

Yes, we need work to have a good life and it's true that we see how our relatives die. But the life have a lot of good things for we. It's worth live!!!

Madagascan bird declared extinct

A small bird which live in the Madagascar island has been officially classified extinct, according to a leading bird conservation organization.

The species, found on Lake Alaotra, the largest lake in Madagascar, dissapeared rapidly due to carnivorous fish and the use of nylon nets by local fishermen.

No hope now remains for this specie. It is another example of how human actions can have bad consequences for the wildlife and the vegetation.

But the news isn't all bad. Conservation projects are having a positive impact on the survival of bird species.

Some species has been passed from "critically endangered" to "endangered" thanks to conservation work to restore its natural vegetation.

Opinion:

In my opinion this is a very good notice, but is a bad new at the same time.

The good part is that the biggest part of the body of the plane was found, so a lot of people and families will have news about their relatives who died in the accident. Another nice new is that the world are closer to know what really happened in this plane when it fell, why it fell? what caused the accident? The accident was caused for a terrorist or pilot error?. As last nice thing about this finding is that exists the posibility that with the information that the pilot recorded with the Black Box Navigation of the plane, engineers are able to solve possible problems of this aircraft for the new aircraft.

The bad part of this new is the part that I criticize. How is posible that in the 21 century we lost two years searching an aircraft underwater, we have very potent satelits that can produce earthquakes in the earth but we can't see the disturbances that cause the impact of a plane falling in the ocean. How is it possible that this plane completely full of transmitters, and communication tools can't send a signal with her position? How is it possible that we have to search these wreckage sending a lot of submarines to the profundities of the oceans? Why we can't detect some metal of the wreckage or some digital or electronic signal from the surface, but we can see a little bomb in a hand of a terrorist watching with a satelite?

Because the majority of the tecnology of this world is designed and created with only one objective: the violence, the war, the defense of our territory...

Portal 2

Portal 2 is a first-person puzzle-platform video game developed by Valve Corporation. It is the sequel to the video game Portal of 2007.

The History: Then she is taken to the testing area to find a gun portals and meet Wheatley who will help her to escape in a capsule. Unfortunately, all they do is reactivate GLaDOS (the enemy) that immediately recognizes Chell. Chell flees to the areas of maintenance and defeat GlaDOS. Then GLaDOS is replaced by Wheatley, but he is corrupted by power. He transfers the brain of GLaDOS to a potato and Chell is sent to the old test chambers. In order to reach the chamber Wheatley, Chell and GLaDOS are forced to pass the tests of Wheatley. Once they arrive, they defeat Wheatley. Later Chell escapes from the facilities.

Characteristics:

Portal 2 comprises a series of puzzles that must be solved by teleporting the player's character and simple objects using the "portal gun", a device that can create inter-spatial portals between flat planes. Travelling through portals maintains the object's speed, some puzzles require the launching of the character or objects out one portal by gaining speed. Other gameplay elements were added to Portal 2, including beams, laser redirection, and special gels.

Saint Jorge

Two days ago, at 21 of april, I went to Figueras to buy a present for my girlfriend for Saint Jorge day. I knew that she didn't want a rose, she wanted a book. I went to search the best book for she and I found "Contra el vent del nord" which talk about a married girl and a divorced man who fall in love by e-mail. I bought this book because I know my girlfriend likes the different love stories.
Two days later, at 23 of april, Saint Jorge arrived. In the morning I stayed home, but in the afternoon I went to Castelló d'Empúries, I bought a nice rose in a store and I went to my girlfriend's house. I gave her the rose and hid the book in her room. Later we went to town with our friends and at nine we went home for dinner. Then, I gave her the book and she gave me mine. At night we went to "Els Arcs" in Empuriabrava, because there was the opening of a bar of dance music. And the Luxury Dj was in the pub playing music all night, when the pub closed, at three, we returned at home.

Opinion:

This is a good new for me, the idea that I will be able change the channels of my TV only moving a hand or talking some words excites me. I want to try this technology, I am too impatient for that, I hope that Microsoft starts to find the solutions they need to improve this technology early. I'm sure that this is a very difficult work, but they are a very big company, they have the best informatics, the best researchers and technical experts of the world, they have a lot millions of dollars and the best facilities in research. I'm hopeful that they will create a TV without remote control and channel guide, and I know that when they design it we will be able to surf the Internet like we do now on the computer but without mouse and keyboards, only with our hands and voice. We will be able to chat with our friends and see our favourite TV channel simultaneously.

I am studying second batxillerat in IES Castelló d'Empúries, in Spain. I am writing in order to explain you my opinions on Nuclear Power and some ideas that I have that can be useful to solve some problems. At first I have to say that I have seen what problem have the nuclear power and I know how dangerous it can be. I do not want to eliminate all the nuclear power of our world for a simple reason. If we do that the biggest part of electric energy dissapear, and I do not want to live without electric energy, I love the livestyle that I have. In base of this I think that the best idea is to change slowly the nuclear plants for hils of solarplants or aerogenerators, it is a hard and very expensive work but we must do it. We only have to change the name of World Nuclear Association for World Energy Association for example. I look forward to hearing for you. Thanks for read my letter.

The Sinde law.

Culture Minister of Spain, Angeles Gonzalez Sinde announced that his stinking law will be operational this summer. This law was approved on february 15, the PSOE, PP and CiU voted for it.

That law says that the new organitzation "Comisión de propiedad intelectual" will be able to close all the webs they want without have to say anything to any judge. I think that is crazy, i'm very angry with that because they will be able to do all that they want.

The culture minister think that this law will allow a lot of business be create in internet. Jajaja I laugh about that, they think that they will be able to control the net but anyone can control it, is a monster, is the biggest thing ever saw, there are a lot of secret servers and hackers who have more protection in their nets that a nuclear bunker. This law is a shit followed by the big law, "Ley de Economía Sostenible" it seems a joke.

Sustainable economy? in Spain? are you kidding me? my god this nation is old, tired, she can do anything to improve her health, now she only can die and I don't want to be there when that happen.

Govern abolishes this law now! You are crazy! Internet is free! Is for all the people and they can do all that they want there! Everybody pays for it, it have to be a right!

Carnival of Sant Pere

This saturday, fifth of March of 2011, I went to Sant Pere to celebrate the carnival. There I met a lot of my friends. We wore the same dress fancy, a boxer costume. I wore a red and long cape, a red pants and some bands at the arms to look more like a boxer. At the beginning of the party we go into the saloon because in the steet was too cold. We danced and drank something there and then we go out. In the street I met Aleix Serra dressed as a pregnant gypsy with a black wig and a dirty dress. Also I met Pep Esteve dressed as a sheepherder with a white wig and a funny shirt.

At three o'clock we went to Pep Clotas house to relax ourselves a little time listening good music and playing cards. Later I went with my girlfriend for a walk through the village, we talked about our friends and expressed our love. When we returned to the party it was finished, the Dj was holding his things and the people was leaving the saloon. At five o'clock, the party ends and I went to home with my girlfriend to sleep.

Hope for early bowel cancer DNA test

NOTICE:

Scientists have discovered what could be the first step towards a DNA test to detect the early signs of bowel cancer.

Tests on two distinct genes were highly accurate in distinguishing between tumours and benign polyps - growths in the bowel that can become cancerous.

While not all polyps in the bowel become cancerous it is thought almost all bowel cancers develop from polyps.

The Cambridge study, in the BMJ journal Gut, analysed 261 samples from patients with benign polyps or bowel cancer.

In particular it looked at what are called DNA methylation patterns - a key process in cell development.

'Improve survival'

Dr Lesley Walker, Cancer Research UK's director of cancer information, says the research opens up the possibility of much earlier diagnosis of bowel cancer, when it is easier to treat.

"We've come a long way in improving screening and developing better treatments - our scientists have been involved in testing many drugs that are used to treat bowel cancer and they've had a key role in pinning down the genetic causes of the disease.

"But there is still more to be done. Research like this is vital in our goal to develop the best methods to detect, monitor and treat cancer and improve survival."

More than 38,000 people in the UK are diagnosed with the disease each year.

My comment:

When I found this notice I was filled with happiness. The notices like this give me a lot of hope, maybe in not much time the cancers will be cured easily. The science of medicine is moving very fast, so I hope that this investigation will not stall and will improve a lot our lifes. I think that if this investigation have succes the scientifics will be able to do the same with all the cancers and not only with the cancer of the bowel. If that happen our life expectancy will improve a lot.

One friend of my parent died the last year because a cancer of lung, that friend was also my friend and I had a very bad time when he died. I hope that this never repeat in my life, I want someone to be able to cure the cancers of all the ill persons. I would like this investigation to be succesful.

TV serie: WEEDS

My Comments:

Weeds is a serie that I discovered last year. It have six seasons but now is producing the seventh. I've seen them all and I have to say it's a very good serie, it have a very good history and a lot of amazing actors.

The characters of the serie are separated in two families and others characters:

-The Botwin family: Nancy Botwin, Andrew Botwin, Silas Botwin, Shane Botwin and Judah Botwin.

-The Hodes family: Dean Hodes, Celia Hodes, Isabelle Hodes and Quinn Hodes.

-The others characters: Doug Wilson, Heylia James, Conrad Shepard, Peter Scottson, Lupita, Esteban Reyes, Guillermo García Gómez, Roy Till, Pilar Zuazo and others...

The story starts with Nancy Botwin sad because her husband, Judah Botwin, has died. When that happend she have the obligation to take care of her two children. She try to find a legal job with a good salary but she can't. The time pass and the money decreases, Nancy begins to worry about her house and the children because they don't have any money. Later Nancy discover a new business, she start to selling marijuana in her neighborhood and begins to earn some money. The time pass and Nancy begins to expand it's business, she find some problems with others drug dealers but Nancy can solve them with some help of her friends. When Nancy takes time in the business starts to create a group to sell the marijuana. At the middle of the serie the group starts to cultivate marijuana to sell it in large quantities. When they have enough money fleeing the city and go to Mexico where they try to begin a new, different and better life.

MY COMMENTS:

This is the newest game from "EA" and "People Can Fly". Bulletstorm arrived to the shops at 22 of february and the next day I had it installed in my computer. The two videos that I put at the top are the official trailer of the game and a gameplay video that I had recorded with my PC.

These days I have played this game and I have to say that is a very good shooter game. The developers of "People Can Fly" have achieved a very good graphics, textures and physics effects. All the materials and objects of the environment can be moved or destroyed, the fall of the enemies and the objects is very real.

The history created by "EA" is very interesting and exciting and the caracterization of the characters is very elaborate. The game starts with your character "Gary" and your friend Rell questioning a bounty hunter in a spacecraft, you kill him. Later the crew see the spacecraft of your biggest enemy, they fight and the two spacecrafts fall in a planet. In this planet is where all the history happen, Gray and one of your friends Ishi, the last survivors of the explosion, they try to escape of the planet, they looking for the general Sarrano to get a rescue spacecraft. I'm waiting now the second part of the history where Gray will kill finally Sarrano.

I recomend this game to all the people who likes the shotter games because is very funny to play and not very long.

iPad 2 tablet

Apple has launched the second generation of its iPad tablet computer at an event in San Francisco.

The company said the machine featured a faster processor, improved graphics, and front and rear cameras.

Apple leads the industry in sales of tablet devices, but has recently begun to lose share to rivals such as HP and Samsung.

The event was hosted by Apple chief executive Steve Jobs, who has been on medical leave since January.

It had been widely speculated that he would not appear owing to his ill health.

Mr Jobs was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2004.

Speaking on stage, he said: "We have been working on this product for a while and I just didn't want to miss today."

Apple has billed the iPad 2 as slimmer, lighter and faster than its predecessor.

The new device features the company's latest dual core A5 processor, which, it is claimed, delivers twice the processing power of the original iPad.

iPad 2 will go on sale in the US on 11 March, followed by 26 other countries, including the UK, on 25 March.

In the United States, pricing will remain the same as for the first iPad, between $499 (£305) and $826 (£505). Other countries are also expected to retain their original pricing models.

OPINION:

Lately the business of tablets computers has grown a lot. At the first time only Apple produced, but now HP and Samsung are producing and selling a lot of tablets PC. Currently Apple has the market dominance but the competition are growing their market. Anyway Apple is the most advanced company with the tablets PC so they developed a new version of her iPad, the iPad 2. I believe that the iPad 2 will be more slim, light and fast because it have a best microprocessor, but there is a thing that I don't think is true: The price will be the same of her predecessor. I think that this is only a dream, I don't remember any case in the world where that happened. Maybe it will be true and if it happen it would be a heavy hit by the competition of HP and Samsung.

I'm sure that a lot of people will buy that wonder of the electronic engineering and maybe I will be one of them.

Good morning, my name is Miquel Isern Roca. The issue of my research ptoject is the Java programming language.

The first reason because I chose this topic was that I always had great love for the consoles especially for computers and their games. From an early age I playes with my uncle's arcade machines and I've always been curious to know how those games funct. Another cause which made me chose this topic was because I want to know if programmation would be an interesting job.

At the beginning of the work I set three goals:

-Learn as more as possible of programming with Java.

-Designing the code of some programs and understand their execution.
-Introduced me into the world of programmation and analyze whether I might want to be a programmer in the future.

This work consists in two sections:

The first is the theorical part of the work where I have defined some of the most basic and important concepts of Java, some of them are variables, classes, objects among others.
The second sectionis the practical part, here is where I explained the three final projects I've done with Java, are two calculators and a simple game.

The integer calculator was the first project that I developed. It is a very simple program that can do additions, subtractions, divisions, multiplications and square roots. This program has some problems.

After seeing the problems of the first program I looked for some posible ways to resolve them.

The second project is a second calculator in an applet. This works better than the last.This calculator has other advantages over the first, can be used repeatedly without re-run, can calculate and give all results with decimal numbers and can be run from all computers.

I learned a lot drawing the gun , the bullet and the ground.

The player can change the angle and speed of the bullet to achieve the objectives using the arrow keys. In addition, the ground of the game is not always the same, each time you run it creates one random ground.

The goal of the game is very simple, the player have to move the cannon always located at the bottom right of the screen changing the tilt angle and the initial velocity of the bullet trying to hit one of the objectives of the screen.

The results achieved in this work have been the expected goals.

I must also say that even from a zero knowledge of computer programming, the goals of my work have been reached. I learned the basics of programming with Java, I managed to introduce myself in this new world and have created three programs which are quite interesting for me.

SELF-EVALUATION:

In this section I will evaluate my oral presentation. This term I had to chose the topic of my research project so I told about my project, my goals, my motivations and the results of my effort. For doing the presentation I used a powerpoint and some attractive which unfortunately had a big problem with my pen drive virus. While I was doing my presentation I looked at my audience and I did gestures to indicate different sections of the powerpoint. I think that my presentation was organized and arranged with the discourse markers. I exposed a information which affect me a lot because I will study something like this and now the people of the class know something about programation and my research project. I hadn't a lot of interruptions and my vocabulary was varied. For all these reasons I think that the note of my presentation should be 7.
