About me

Well, I'm seventeen years old and now I have to take a decision. I have to decide what I want to study, and what I want to do in the future. At the time I thought in some works might like me. I thought that I could be an architect, a graphic designer, a computer programmer, an electronic engineer and more things, all of them related with the tecnologies. I have an idea about what I will be but I don't know it certainly.

There is something which I'm sure. I want go to live at United States, I want to work in a big city, in a big company. I want have a good life quality. Well, to obtain all oh these dreams I have to have a good education and I have to work too hard to write my destiny.

In the future I want to improve our tecnology. Maybe I will found a new metal alloy which improve the comunication, or maybe I will design an object which will creates an atmosphere in another planet.

Computer have made the world a better place.

Nowadays computers are a very important thing. Thanks to computers we can communicate with all the people that we want. Also computers and Internet allows me to see my uncle when he was in New York. Using the new communications systems like e-mail, skype... we accelerate our life. But the computer not only help us with the communication, we can use computers to control a lot of industrial machines, som security systems and a lot of useful things.

But our current computers like all things in the wprld have problems. In the same time that some one design a new program someone els is developing a virus which can control that program. Another problem of computers is that you can become addict, but I think that this problem would be controled by the users.

In conclusion I think that this statement is right but computers will be dangerous if someone use them with bad intentions.

The company was founded in 1975 by Bill Gates and Paul Allen. They met when they were students, by their liking of programation. This same year the MITS( Micro Instrumentation and Telemetry Systems ) company anounced that they had a new computer, the first personal computer. Then Bill Gates and Paul Allen developed the first version of the interpreter for that computer and sold it. In that moment was when Bill Gates let the Harvard university and founded Microsoft with Paul Allen. At first Microsoft was a company which design interpreters for others companies. But in 1980, obtained a contract from IBM that asked for a new OS for the IBM PC. That contract had a problem, they only had one year to design that new OS and they couldn't do it. So they buy the QDOS interpreter from Seattle and changed his name to MS_DOS. What is QDOS? QDOS is a OS desinged from Tim Petterson. The acronyms of it mean "Quick and Dirty Operating System" and the spanish traduction of that is: Sistema Operativo Rápido y Sucio. Just hearing that name, and knowing that this OS was designed by one person with less than two months copying from another operating system CP/M. What we can expect from that? We can imagine that this operating system was a crap. Well, now I have to say that QDOS is the base of the current Windows operating systems. That can be incredible but is the pure and poor truth. After this, in 1984, Microsoft had sold a lot of computers with QDOS as interpreter.

Now I will talk about some products of Microsoft company.

There you can see some examples of these products.

I will start with this section talking about Windows live messenger. Messenger was created at 1999 from Microsoft. It's basically a system of instant courier, at first that only work with Windows, but now we can use it with iOS.

Micosoft office is the most popular suite office used by the users of Windows and Mac. IT have a lot of aplications like Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Acces and more. It is actualized every year with new and better aplications but every year is more and more expensive.

Xbox is the first games console produced by Microsoft. It had be created to compite with the Playstation 2 from Sony and the GameCube from Nintendo.

Xbox have a very large list of games, from games for childhood to bloodthirsty games for adults.

Microsoft Game Studios is a little company into Microsoft Corporation which develops and published games for computers based in Windows. They also produce games for the Xbox.

Windows Internet Explorer is a web navigator created by Microsoft in 1995 to use it with Windows. In 1999 it was the most popular web navigator in the world, the 99 per cent of the population utilized it. But actually her popularity are decreasing and only the 50 per cent of the population are using it.

Windows Phone is an mobile OS. Used by Smartphones( the cellular phones of Microsoft) and some other mobiles from other brands like HTC, LG and SAMSUNG.

SELF EVALUATION:

Well now I will evaluate my oral presentation. This term we had to chose a topic related with computers. Me and Pep had done it about Microsoft and his monopoly. For doing the presentation we used a powerpoint and some attractive images. While I was doing my presentation I looked at my audience and I did gestures to indicate different images. I think that our presentation was organized and arranged with the discourse markers and it had an interesting and current topic. We exposed a information which affect all the people in the class and now they know something about Microsoft and his history. I hadn't a lot of interruptions and my vocabulary was varied. For all these reasons I think that the note of my presentation should be 7.

The Town

This last weekend I saw a film about Doug MacRay who is a criminal, the leader of a group of bank robbers. That group live in Charlestown. Carlestown is renowned for churning out a high number of armed robbers. At first the robberies of that group were succefully. But that all changed on the gang's latest job, when they took a hostage , the bank manager, Claire Keesey. Though they let her go unharmed, Claire wass nervously aware that the robbers knew her name...and where she lives. But she lets her guard down when she meets an charming man named Doug. She not realizing that he was the same man who only days earlier had terrorized her. The instant attraction between them gradually turns into a passionate romance that becomes a dangerous, and potentially deadly situation for the group of bank robbers. Doug wants out of this life and the town. But with the Federals closing and his friens questioning his loyalty, Doug realizes that getting out will not be easy. He only have two options: betray his friends or lose the woman he loves. What he will do?

Formula 1 Championship 2010

This weekend was the last race of the season of F1. In that race was decided who would be the winner of the championship. Is strange that before the last race wasn't decided who would be the winner. Normally, the fans of Formula 1 know which driver will win the championship a few races before the final. But this last weekend we didn't know that. This last weekend Alonso, Webber and Vettel could win the champinship. So the race was very interesting. At first I thought that Alonso would win because he only had to finish the race in the 4th position. But in the first lap Michael Schumacher had an accident with Vitantonio Liuzzi, later Webber had to pit, so Alonso followed him. Was there where Ferrari failed with the strategy because Alonso lost a lot of positions. Later Alonso couldn't advance the pilots which was in front of him. So Vettel who went at the first position won the race and the championship.

Congratulations Vettel!!! But the next year Alonso will win the championship!!!

Germany tightens airport security

Germany is increasing security at airports and railway stations because they have "concrete indications" of terrorist attacks being planned for the end of November. Germany had information of the sustained efforts by Islamist extremists to do terrorist attacks. Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere said said that the extra security would remain in place because there are reasons for concern. Some of the new security measures would be clearly visible, but others would not.

Mr de Maiziere said Germany had received a tip-off of two bombs were intercepted route from Yemen to the United States last month. The Yemen plot showed the adaptability of terrorists.

I think it's a very good idea to improve the security in the country. But the terrorist

strategists are very inteligent and maybe they can design a plan to bypass the security.

My daily training

This last summer I thought that I had to do more exercise. I thought this because in other courses such as ESO or primary school I was practicing sports like swimming, football, basketball and a very unpopular sport called underwater hockey. But when I started the first batxillerat I stopped playing sports. So that summer I started thinking about how to practice sports and have enough time to study at the same time. The first idea that I had was that I couldn't do any outdoor sports. Based on that, my only option was to do some exercises at home. Then I started looking web pages to help me with my training. Now i'm trying to follow the steps of these pages. I've been training a few months and I am noticing the results. I feel healthier and perhaps a little stronger.

A pilot who don't know english

In august of 2008 some holidaymakers from Europe were flying back to home. While they were flying the pilot diverted from his course. When they had taken that new direction the plane entry to a military airfield. Air traffic controllers tried to notify the pilot that he was flying in a military space. They tried to tell to the pilot that he couldn't landed but he landed all the same. Later, the pilot asked to the passengers if anyone spoke english. When the pilot found an English passenger who knew the pilot asked the passenger if he could translate the information from the radio.

All this wouldn't have happened if the pilot had had a good level of English. So I think that the idea of making English compulsory for the pilot's career is a very good idea.

The last Harry Potter (2007)

The biggest publishing sensation in history finally arrives. On 21 July of 2007 J.K Rowling published the seventh and final book in her Harry Potter series. That new book calls "Harry Potter and the deathly Halows" was the fastest selling book of ever. Aproximately nine million copies of that book was sold in the first day.

J.K Rowling become a dollar billionaire thanks to her Harry Potter series. Ms. Rowling earns all of her money selling over three hundred twenty five million copies in two hundred countries and earning a lot of millions allowing to film companies to make films about her books.

Actually, the comunity fans of Harry Potter asks to J.K Rowling that she continue with the serie. They wants more books of Harry Potter to know more about her history. But Ms. Rowling don't want to continue she says that the history is finished and her ideas to continue are bad and poor.

I think that we have to give thanks to Ms. Rowling because she achieve a very difficult thing. With her books she stimulated the people especially the teenagers to read more books passionately.
